the full amount of time necessary

"taking a full forty days, for that was the time required for embalming. And the Egyptians mourned for him seventy days." (Gen 50:3)

"...they lamented loudly and bitterly; and there Joseph observed a seven-day period of mourning for his father." (Gen 50:10)

Joseph wept and mourned for months. We all need time to work through our grief when we lose someone close to us; and whatever amount of time it takes for each of us is different. It helps to cry and share our feelings.

Lord, I pray for all who are mourning the loss of someone they love. Please help them know they are not alone. Help them feel Your arms wrapped around them. I thank You for being there for me... Through it All. In Jesus' name. Amen.
